Andrew Deary is Head of Compliance and Enforcement with the Marine Management Organisation’s (MMO) global marine team. Andrew has worked in fisheries enforcement for 20 years and has led the compliance and enforcement aspects of the Blue Belt programme since 2017. Prior to joining the MMO Andrew held a number of senior enforcement roles in in UK and UK Overseas Territories (UK-OTs) and was an international fisheries observer.
Dr Sarah Allison is an integrated marine manager in the Marine Management Organisation’s (MMO) global marine team.
has experience across aquaculture, fisheries management, and Marine Protected Area (MPA) conservation. With a focus on finding practical solutions that work for people, communities and the environment.
Sarah has worked with governments, research organisations, NGOs, and coastal communities to support the sustainable management of marine resources. A big part of her work has been helping communities take the lead in managing and protecting the resources they depend on, ensuring that conservation efforts also support local livelihoods, food security, and long-term resilience.
With a strong background in marine conservation and MPA management, Sarah has worked on projects that bring together local knowledge, community priorities, and biodiversity conservation.
Sarah's expertise includes fisheries policy and governance, sustainable aquaculture, marine conservation, and community-based natural resource management. She also has a particular interest in making fisheries and conservation programmes more inclusive, with a focus on Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI).
Combining technical expertise and working with communities to develop management practices that strengthen livelihoods, support conservation, and sustain the marine environments.
