Cristopher "Cris" Lomboy is a development practitioner and conservation leader with more than three decades of experience helping communities build sustainable livelihoods while protecting natural resources. He currently serves as Senior Director for Program Implementation and Shared Services at Rare Philippines, where he leads multidisciplinary teams supporting coastal fisheries management, marine conservation, policy engagement, and community resilience initiatives across the country.
Throughout his career, Cris has worked with international development organizations, government agencies, and local communities across Asia. His expertise spans sustainable finance, financial inclusion, enterprise development, behavior change, and environmental conservation. Before joining Rare, he held leadership roles with the Grameen Foundation, PlaNet Finance, and Punla sa Tao Foundation, where he helped design and implement programs that improved economic opportunities for underserved communities.
A licensed forester by profession, Cris holds a Master in Development Management with Distinction from the Asian Institute of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. He is a published author, experienced facilitator, and recipient of the University of the Philippines College of Forestry and Natural Resources' Most Distinguished Alumnus Award for Community Services.
