Nick Wise is founder and CEO of OceanMind, a non-profit organisation that turns satellite monitoring, artificial intelligence, and expert maritime intelligence into practical action for ocean protection. OceanMind helps governments, enforcement agencies, NGOs, and responsible businesses detect risk, target interventions, and strengthen compliance across fisheries, marine protected areas, and wider maritime activity.
OceanMind’s recent work has focused on intelligence-led implementation: supporting PSMA and BBNJ capacity building in Southeast Asia, implementing PSMART to help analysts assess vessel-entry risk, delivering remote monitoring and enforcement support for marine protected areas through the UK Blue Belt Programme, and applying enforcement-grade vessel risk intelligence to insurance and financial services. OceanMind is now building on this experience through a new regional approach to strengthening marine enforcement capacity, interoperable intelligence, and sustained technical assistance in Southeast Asia.
