Rob Enever, PhD. Science and Conservation Strategy Director, Fishtek Marine Ltd.
Rob leads the science underpinning the efficacy of Fishtek Marine’s developing product range and identifies and prioritizes new product opportunities for the company. He’s a specialist in ETP bycatch reduction and works collaboratively with Fishermen/Scientists/NGOs and Governments around the world to help reduce the impacts of fishing on the marine environment. Robs background is as a Fisheries Scientist, having spent extensive time (15+ years) working at sea with commercial fishermen and as a Marine Evidence Specialist setting up and subsequently advising on Marine Protected Areas in England. Rob is well positioned to consider policy from an industry perspective and offer a level of pragmatism regarding effective implementation and uptake of new ideas. He sits on the International Whaling Commission’s bycatch expert panel feeding in expertise from a gear technology perspective. Rob has measured over 600,000 fish from 200+ species on over 100 different vessels!.
