With over 20 years in international fisheries management and conservation, Sarah Lenel leads the IMCS Network—a global community advancing fisheries compliance through collaboration and shared expertise. Her career has focused on fisheries compliance, MCS, and human rights at sea, working closely with governments, NGOs, and regional bodies to combat IUU fishing and improve compliance frameworks. Sarah brings a strong commitment to inclusive leadership and capacity building, especially in empowering women in the MCS field. With a strategic and systems-oriented mindset, she ensures frontline actors are seen, supported, and connected. Her background in advocacy and communications also strengthens IMCS’s role as a trusted platform for global cooperation.
