Daisy Marie M. Gesim

City Agriculturist, Local Government Unit Bais - Philippines government

Daisy Marie M. Gesim is a marine and agricultural professional with over 25 years of
experience in local government service, coastal resource management, sustainable
fisheries, and aquaculture. A Biology graduate of Silliman University, she began her career
as a volunteer with the Silliman University Marine Laboratory's Marine Mammals Project
before joining the Local Government Unit of Bais City in 1997.
Over the years, Daisy has served in various technical and leadership roles, including
Environmental Management Specialist, Agricultural Technologist and Coastal Resource
Management Focal Person, Senior Aquaculturist, and Officer-in-Charge of the City
Agriculture Office. She currently leads initiatives that promote sustainable fisheries, food
security, climate-smart agriculture, and community resilience. She also serves as Host
Secretary of the BaTASS Alliance and works closely with organizations such as WWF, Rare,
MCP, and OCEANUS in advancing coastal and environmental conservation efforts.
