Doohyun leads O2’s work in Korea and with Korean fisheries and their supply chains regionally. This includes work with commercial tuna fisheries, inshore fisheries and building a network with government, seafood companies, industry associations and NGOs to support on-the-water improvements. Previously, he worked as a senior officer for WWF Korea’s Ocean Team where his work included engaging with distant water tuna fisheries and inshore aquaculture farms; leading consumer campaigns for sustainable seafood and WWF’s seafood partnership with retail companies; advocating for enhanced transparency and traceability and combating IUU; and overseeing an electronic monitoring pilot project. Prior to WWF, he worked for the Korean Ministry of Environment in protected areas management, biodiversity conservation and migratory bird species management. Doohyun has been part of the national delegation to the Ramsar Convention, the World Conservation Congress of IUCN and the Convention on Biological Diversity.
